My FSUCard has stopped working at cCure card readers (other people are not having an issue with their cards), what should I do?

With age, the magnetic strip on your FSUCard can become worn, damaged, or demagnetized. You have a few options when your FSUCard has stopped working and you are sure your access has not been changed (You can verify whether or not your access has been changed with your department.):

1. Go to the FSUCard center and ask that your card be "remagnetized".
2. If magnetizing your card does not resolve the issue, we recommend getting a new FSUCard with the same card number on the new card. You must turn in the damaged card to receive the same card number. Failure to obtain the same card number will result in a brief (24-48 hour) loss of card access.

I lost my FSU card and was issued a new card at the FSU Card Center with a new number. How long will it take for my new card number to be updated in the cCure system?

It generally takes 24-48 hours for your card number to update in cCure Card Access System. If you need your card number updated before this time please contact your Department’s Authorized Security Representative to submit a CRM ticket requesting that your card number be updated. They will need to include your new card number in the ticket.

What is the correct way to swipe your FSUCard at a card reader door?

Swipe your card with the magnetic strip facing away from the keypad as illustrated. You will swipe your card this way at both cCure card readers and Locknetics card reader doors:

I lost my FSU card and was issued a new card at the FSU Card Center with a new number. I live on campus but I can no longer access my Residence Hall. What should I do?

Go to the Housing Maintenance Office located on the Ground Floor of the Askew Student Life Building. The Housing Maintenance Office will not take requests over the phone. The Housing Office will submit the request to have your card number updated in cCure. Such requests are treated with the highest priority. You also have the option to wait 24-48 hours for the information to update automatically in cCure.
