University Interior Alarm Monitoring Policy

Interior Building Doors-Interior doors with card access equipment will not be armed or monitored at any time, unless they are covered under “Exceptions to University Standard Arming and Disarming Policies-Mandatory Alarm Areas”. Exceptions to University Standard Arming and Disarming Policies -Mandatory Alarm Areas are defined as the following:

  • Controlled substance storage areas
  • Cash storage or cash collection areas
  • Technology-enhanced classrooms
  • Storage areas for confidential student and/ or employee records

Most interior areas that are deemed to require arming and monitoring follow the same arming policy as perimeter doors (11pm-5am, Monday-Friday, plus holidays and weekends).

Other exemptions may be granted on a case-by-case basis. Requests for Exemption from the University Interior Alarm Policy may be made by completing the Request for Exemption from the University Interior Alarm Policy form and submitting the form to FSUPD CASS via email.
